Job Description

The Acupuncturist is responsible for development, implementation, and coordination of acupuncture therapy for cases such as addiction, stroke rehabilitation, musculoskeletal issues, women’s issues, stress management, and digestive issues. Other applications include the treatment of headache, migraine, respiratory issues, and arthritis. Essential duties include discussing possible drug-herb interactions with doctors and patients, patient education in lifestyle changes, exercises, meditation, and Tai Chi, incorporating manual therapy (TUI NA-Chinese Remedial Massage), providing diagnosis and treatment plans, building solid patient relationships, completing progress notes, safeguarding client confidentiality, following clinical hygiene rules, practicing clean needle technique, maintaining professional appearance, following up on license renewals, seeking ongoing education, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, organizing community workshops, providing tips for newsletters and blogs, interviewing and qualifying new hires, training new acupuncturists, and conducting professional and ethical client relationships. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include empathy, person-centered approach, recognizing limitations, self-motivation, excellent communication, and dedication to wellness lifestyle. Education and experience criteria include a Master’s degree in a related field, minimum three years of experience, certifications from NCCAOM, board certification in specialty, and state licensure.
