We are excited to announce an opportunity for an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant/Legal Secretary to join a dynamic, fast-growing team in Torrance, CA. This is a hybrid position, offering a balance of remote and in-office days.
Position Responsibilities:
As a Legal Administrative Assistant/Legal Secretary, you will provide essential support to attorneys and paralegals, helping to keep things organized and efficient. Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing, proofing, and formatting legal documents and correspondence
Filing documents in state and federal courts
Organizing and maintaining charts with hyperlinks for documents
Preparing binders for attorneys and judges
Saving and organizing documents and emails in a document management system (iManage)
Managing legal calendars, including tracking deadlines in CompuLaw
Scheduling meetings and maintaining attorney calendars
Arranging travel and processing expense reports
Handling monthly client disbursements
Organizing and maintaining case files
Providing support to multiple timekeepers and assisting with team needs as required
Job Requirements:
We're looking for a highly organized individual with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. If you have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure, we'd love to hear from you. Your ability to multitask and support a busy team will be key to success in this role.
Qualifications:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, Outlook, Teams, and CompuLaw
Understanding of court rules and procedures, with the ability to retrieve documents from online court directories
Ability to work overtime when necessary
Comfort with heavy computer use
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. (files and boxes)
Education and Experience:
Minimum of 5+ years of legal experience
Civil Litigation experience is required
Proven history of employment stability
