About the Role

The Company is in search of a Managing Director for its China and World Institute. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the strategic development, management, and advancement of the Institute, which is dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding of China's global role. This role involves leading a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the Institute's research and programmatic priorities are met, and maintaining the highest standards of academic and ethical conduct. The Managing Director will also be responsible for operations management, including budgeting, financial oversight, and human resources, as well as for the Institute's outreach and partnership development. Applicants for the Managing Director position at the company's China and World Institute should possess a Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field, with a minimum of 5 years experience in academic program administration. The role requires a candidate with strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a passion for advancing knowledge and strategic insights. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, and proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in grant writing, fundraising, and donor cultivation, as well as experience in strategic planning and project management.
