Material Handling Specialist

The Lee Group is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Material Handling Specialist for our client in Suffolk, VA . As a Material Handling Specialist , you will play a key role in supporting production operations, particularly in maintaining the sanitation area and managing material movement. Your expertise in forklift operation and material handling will be critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the production process.

Details of the position as a Packer:

• Pay Rate: $16/hr
• 40+ hours a week always available
• Weekly pay
• Shifts Available:
  • 7AM - 7PM
  • 7PM - 7AM

Responsibilities of a Material Handling Specialist:

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the sanitation area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Regularly clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and surfaces in the work area to prevent contamination and uphold hygiene standards.
• Handle and dispose of waste materials properly, adhering to waste management protocols.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to safely and efficiently transport raw materials, finished products, and supplies to designated areas.
• Assist the Grinder Operator in operating machinery and equipment used in the production process.
• Load and unload materials as required, ensuring accurate inventory counts are maintained.
• Properly label and store materials in designated locations, following inventory management procedures.

Requirements of a Material Handling Specialist:

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
• Proven ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and effectively (certification is a plus).
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor as required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
