Mamieli is a community-focused platform connecting home chefs with busy families looking for in-home weekly meal prep support in NYC. We help busy parents get tailored home cooked meals on the table while helping chefs earn extra income on their own desired schedule.

Freelance Personal Chef / Home Cook

We are looking to hire skilled, creative, and personable chefs/”home cooks” to join our platform supporting postpartum and busy families in NYC with weekly in-home meal prep. For a typical meal prep session, you prepare a tailored meal plan that includes 3 to 4 family-style dinners, cook the meals in a single session at the client’s home, label and store them in the fridge for the week ahead, and leave the kitchen spotless. You set your own schedule and pricing though we are happy to give you guidance on both! Most meal prep service opportunities are on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays, with special event opportunities falling mostly on weekends.

If you can do the following, we'd love to hear from you:

• You can cook delicious wholesome family-style meals
• You are creative in coming up with meal plans and menu options for families
• You have a wide repertoire of dishes that you can make while being flexible to families’ special requests
• You have empathy for busy and postpartum moms
• You are friendly, personable, and have exceptional communication and customer service skills
• Nice to have but not required: knowledge in postpartum nutrition

Responsibilities:

• Preparing customized meal plans for families based on their preferences and dietary needs, keeping in mind budget and seasonality
• Preparing associated grocery shopping lists
• Shopping for groceries before cooking sessions (upon client request)
• Preparing meals in the family's kitchen in accordance with food health and safety regulations
• Labeling and storing food in the fridge or freezer
• Providing families with reheating instructions
• Leaving the kitchen spotless
• Receiving feedback from families and making improvements where necessary

Requirements:

• Portfolio of family-friendly dishes that keep well in the fridge and reheat nicely
• Excellent interpersonal and client service skills
• Passion and pride for delighting people with wholesome, nourishing, and delicious food
• Food Handlers Certificate
• Willingness to undergo background check upon request
