We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Property Accountant to join our fast-paced finance team. This role will be responsible for managing the accounting functions of our extensive property portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger and financial statement preparation, with a specific focus on property accounting. Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Property Accountant, you will:

1. Oversee the general ledger for all properties, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
2. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
3. Utilize Yardi property management software for data entry, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
4. Conduct regular audits to verify the accuracy of financial data and compliance with financial regulations and standards.
5. Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to resolve accounting discrepancies and issues.
6. Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing financial expertise to support strategic decision-making.
7. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
8. Assist with tax preparation and filing, including property taxes and income taxes.
9. Participate in financial meetings, presenting financial reports and providing insights into financial performance and trends.
10. Continuously improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

To be successful as a Permanent Property Accountant, you should have:

1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 1 years of experience in either property accounting, public audit/advisory experience or general ledger experience in another industry
3. Proficiency in Yardi property management software is preferred but not required.
4. Strong knowledge of general ledger functions, financial statement preparation, and accounting standards and regulations.
5. Excellent numerical skills with strong attention to detail.
6. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and accurately.
8. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
10. CPA certification is a plus.
