Job Details
Currently they are looking to hire a Bookkeeper/Accountant who can work a HYBRID schedule out of their office in Ithaca, NY.
Responsibilities:
· Accounting/bookkeeping assignments with various local small business clients in the Ithaca area.
· Preparing or reviewing bank/account reconciliations and month close responsibilities as needed.
· Ability to prepare a full accrual, month end close.
· Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close and financial information reporting.
· Analyzing general ledger processes, identify, and clean up any account errors.
· Assisting clients with their financial statement reporting processes including cash flow and disclosures.
· Reviewing outstanding receivables and analyzing allowance for doubtful accounts.
· Coordinating accounting efforts with external auditors, tax preparers, and regular communications with owners and financial institutions.
· Maintaining, establishing, or upgrading accounting ledgers or systems for small businesses.
Requirements:
· Associate degree in accounting is required, (Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred)
· 4+ years accounting experience as a full charge bookkeeper (accrual basis accounting, not cash basis) or experience as an accountant working in industry (service, real estate, construction, manufacturing, distribution is preferred).
· Experience with QuickBooks is required.
· CPA or CMA is a plus, not required. Strong communication, relationship building, and consulting skills are necessary.
· Must be able to meet deadlines, be proactive and have solid multi-tasking skills.
