General Summary of Position

**This position is for full time NIGHT SHIFT. This position would compromise of 3-12hr shifts per week.

Welcome to the Cardiovascular IMC Unit at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital!
Our unit specializes in providing exceptional care for pre- and post-operative open heart, vascular, and thoracic patients, handling around 30-50 cases each month. This high-acuity setting is equipped to support patients requiring advanced monitoring, including multiple lines and drips, ensuring comprehensive and attentive care.

Designed to maximize patient comfort and recovery.
Short Patient Stays:
With an average length of stay between 1-4 days, we provide focused, efficient care and can accommodate boarders when necessary.

Qualifications:

  Current RN licensure

Experience in an ICU setting, preferably with cardiovascular patients
Strong skills in rhythm recognition and critical thinking

Key Responsibilities
As a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. You will identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations and critically analyzes trends and changes in patient status and plans appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.
