Salary: $180,000 - $240,000 per year
A bit about us: We are seeking a Senior Financial Data Scientist to join our Fintech startup in San Francisco. This unique role combines data science, financial modeling, data engineering, LLM application, and institutional sales support. You will lead data-driven projects from concept to execution while collaborating with sales teams to explain and deliver data models to high-profile clients. You’ll work closely with data pipeline engineers and the CTO to design data ingestion and QA systems that power our innovative data products.
Responsibilities for this role:
- Develop Pricing Models: Design and enhance pricing models for illiquid assets, including tools that predict daily prices for actively-traded private companies.
- Feature Engineering: Identify and integrate new features and signals to improve ML model accuracy and performance.
- Data Engineering: Build and maintain robust data pipelines to collect, parse, and store data used in ML workflows and displayed on our data platform.
- LLM Integration: Implement LLMs to automate data ingestion processes and introduce advanced features on our platform.
- Sales Collaboration: Support the institutional sales team by explaining data models, methodologies, and product offerings to high-level financial clients.
- Client Data Analysis: Fulfill client requests for data analysis and outputs with fast turnaround times.
- Pipeline Optimization: Enhance data pipeline efficiency and QA processes to improve scalability and minimize manual review.

Job Details Qualifications:
- Must be based in the SF Bay Area and able to work in-person in San Francisco at least 3 days per week.
- At least 6 years of professional experience in data engineering, data science, or financial quant roles, with strong proficiency in Python, R, Postgres, and LangChain. Experience with Typescript, NodeJS, and Google Firebase is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience developing ML models from scratch using Bayesian modeling, LLMs, and linear regression techniques.
- High level of accountability and dependability, especially when delivering client-facing outputs under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and attention to detail, with the ability to contribute to high-level data strategy while managing granular QA tasks.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and clients.
- Positive, curious, and passionate about leveraging data to innovate in the fintech space.
