Overview

As a Sr. Cost Accountant, you will play a vital role in our organization by overseeing our cost accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing valuable insights to aid in strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for analyzing costs, preparing budget forecasts, and conducting financial audits to maximize profitability and minimize financial risks.

• Analyze and report on costs and expenses, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and profit maximization
• Conduct regular financial audits to ensure compliance with regulations and accuracy of financial information
• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Manage and maintain the cost accounting system, ensuring accurate and timely data entry
• Collaborate with various departments to gather cost data and provide cost analysis reports
• Participate in the development and analysis of product cost standards
• Prepare and monitor budget forecasts and provide variance analysis
• Evaluate and recommend cost-effective solutions for operational changes
• Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and strategic planning
• Provide guidance and support to junior members of the cost accounting team
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls and procedures
• Interpret financial results and communicate findings to management
• Maintain a deep understanding of market trends and their impact on costing decisions
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of cost accounting processes and procedures
• Collaborate with external auditors during annual audit processes

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred
• Proven experience as a cost accountant or similar role
• Demonstrated expertise in cost accounting principles, practices, and procedures
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and other financial software applications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and standards
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Solid understanding of financial auditing processes and internal controls
• Experience in implementing cost accounting systems and process improvements
• Knowledge of ERP systems and their integration with cost accounting
• Capability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity
• Strong team player with a proactive and collaborative approach to work
