Seeking a qualified C DL-A Truck Driv er to join our growing team in our Schenectady branch.

Salary Range : $58,000 - $68,000 DOE

Who we are looking for:

An energetic team player who will be responsible for loading and driving various size trucks and trailers to deliver products required by customer in an efficient, courteous, safe and timely manner, ensuring product integrity during transit.

Position is full time-local driving, M-F, 1st shift with no overnights/weekends

Some responsibilities include :

  • Check and secure load, drive truck and trailer to various locations to deliver and/or pick up equipment to/from customer job sites in a safe and timely manner ensuring product integrity during transit
  • Unload products in an efficient and courteous manner, place order in location requested by customer
  • Conduct pre and post trip DOT truck inspections, such as checking fuel, oil, water, hoses, brakes, lights, and tires before and after daily run to ensure readiness for use; notify management of needed repairs Clean and maintain delivery truck and equipment
  • Complete and distribute all required paperwork including but not limited to delivery information, inspection forms, route sheets, signed invoices, and mileage forms as required. Complete daily trip report log following DOT regulations
  • Tag all units picked up with appropriate information including customer name, problem, and status

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil, and water levels.
  • Ability to safely and efficiently operate a truck in accordance with DOT regulations.
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents such as route directions and written instructions.
  • Ability to follow directions and job completion tasks
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations
  • Ability to work independently with minimum direction.
  • Ability to work overtime and occasional Saturdays as needed
  • Ability to operate a truck, trailer, forklift, and industrial floor machines

Qualification Standards Include :

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have at time of hire and maintain a valid NYS CDL A Driver License with HAZMAT certification free of major infractions
  • Ability to operate a truck, trailer, forklift and front-end loaders.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective equipment
  • Mental/Visual attention is required for performing vehicle operations, driving and ensuring safety

Prerequisites : Profile Assessment and illegal drug substance testing, DOT physical, hearing and lead tests.
